Due to the recent events in New York City, we at The Jeff Page decided we should go to New York to get first hand coverage for our audience. We went up on Sunday, September 23. We also planned to visit a candlelight ceremony, which we ended up not finding.

We had to go through the Lincoln Tunnel to get into New York. This is the view from our car going into the tunnel. What you don't see are the armed guards that were on the backs of the toll booths. They were checking for suspicious vehicles. They made a van in front of us open the back.
We ended up parking in China town. The streets were blocked off to public traffic for a number of blocks from Ground zero. it was eerie walking through Manhattan and not seeing traffic, other than police, emergency vehicles, and tucks carrying wreckage.
We couldn't get very close to the where the towers where. The streets were barricaded a few blocks from Ground zero in every direction. Many people were there. Most had blank looks on their faces. Some people were even in tears as they looked in the direction of where the towers once stood.
Here are some frightening views of what once would have included the World Trade Center towers. You can see the clouds of dust and smoke that surrounded the rubble.
Everywhere, you could find posters such as this one, where people were hoping that their loved ones had survived.
Some children had made this flag. It is made up of little hearts, each with a message.
Our visit to New York really made it hit home how tragic this attack was.
